There are times when a child should remain
at home for his/her own welfare and for the protection of
other children. If a child is sent to school and appears ill,
then he/she will be sent home.
Keep your child at home if he or she has:
* Fever over 100 degrees in the last 24 hours.
* Sore throat and swollen neck glands accompanied by fever.
* Undiagnosed rash or skin eruptions.
* Earache, red eyes, or drainage from eyes.
* Tonsilitis or any communicable disease.
* Vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours.
* Copious thick, opaque nasal mucus indicative of a bacterial
infection.
* Head lice (until treated and no nits are present for 24
hours).
* Taking antibiotic medication for 24 hours.
Note: Children should not return to school following illness
until they have been free of fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea
for 24 hours.
